Who is Webcrowd? Good question! Webcrowd was started because basically we were sick of the poor service proveded by so many hosting providers. Sure you can get 1000gb of hosting for $7.95 a month, but when you have a problem, you need to jump through hoops to get help. We also found many of those cheaper hosts also had very sneaky billing proceedures, like billing a month early every year, automatic upgrades that you have to opt out of, and the list goes on. Also when you called them and mentioned you work on an Apple MAC, you could hear their eyes glaze over, and brains switch off, and many times your not even talking to someone that can help, your talking to a call centre in another country.
We decided that we, and our customers demanded and deserved better service.
Why do you need 1000gb of server space anyway? Most sites are under 100mb! And lets face it most are under 10mb, and all that extra space is wasted. But in reality your paying for it, you don’t get the attention and service you need. The Webcrowd philosophy was basically, offer the space most people need, at a price that is affordable, while still giving our clients the attention they need.
Are we the biggest? NO! Do we want to be? Maybe some day, as long at it doesn’t come at the price of our customers.
Is our hosting Apple Mac friendly? Well actually all hosting is Apple Mac friendly. The server doesn’t care what operating system you use. But what we do offer is decades of experience on the Apple platform, so when it come to configuring your email software or FTP software, we actually know what to do, and have the knowledge to help. We don’t treat MAC clients like second rate citizens. We welcome everyone!
